Who knew slicing could be this good?
“When I compose a review, I usually start with the packaging; especially if it is an expensive or potentially giftable item.
The packaging of this knife was UNIMPRESSIVE! Like lose a ⭐unimpressive! It was a plain cardboard box with a pull open seem. Inside was a sheathed knife, wrapped in a Geisser kitchen towel. Totally blah. Nice towel, but c’mon.
Then I found the “”Thank You”” note inside the box. The usual thank you for the purchase. However, they also addressed the purposeful packaging. “”We have deliberately chosen simple packaging to reduce over packaging.”” Okay, wow, environmentally conscience!
The knife itself feels like it was created to serve the chefs of kings. It is so balanced. It has a full tang. It feels amazing in your hand. It cuts seamlessly. It is really a dream. This has become my favorite, go-to knife. The one I each for first!
The markings on my knife are different from the one in the ad. I went to the manufacturer’s website for comparison. The markings on my knife appear are identical to the knives on Giesser’s website.
If you are considering this knife, I highly encourage you to give a go. Very happy with my investment.”

This knife is incredible
I am in love with this knife. It feels expertly constructed, it’s weighty, well-balanced, solid, and very very sharp. Holding it gives me the same feeling as sitting at the helm of a luxury car. The handle feels ridiculously smooth even though it’s a full tang knife with a resin grip on either side. The rivets are rock solid and the joints are polished smooth. The finish on the blade itself is perfection. The first time I used it, I was splitting a canteloupe in half and it glided through like butter. It slices proteins easily and remains sharp after use. Just make sure to clean it by hand with soap and water, and dry it immediately and I’m sure this knife will last for decades.

Razor sharp and well balanced
I’ve never previously heard of this brand of knives. But after doing some research on the internet, they are a well-known brand manufactured in Germany. Therefore, I decided to give them a try. When I received the knife, the first thing I noticed was that it seems to have been manufactured with close attention to detail. The finish is flawless and the edge, which I tested by shaving some hair on my arm, is razor sharp. After washing it, I used it to slice some carrots and it was a joy to use. It is well balanced, comfortable to hold, and feels solid. I expect it to give many years of use and I’m pleased I got it. As a bonus, this product includes a kitchen towel and a guard that can be installed on the knife when not in use.

WOW! My husband said this is an excellent knife
According to the webpage the Giesser Company has been in business since 1776 and was started as a small forge. This one is heavy-duty and sharp. My husband has now taken full possession of this knife and hidden it for his use only because he has complained for years that no one in the house knows how to properly care for a good knife. Actually, this is probably the best knife we have ever owned. He washes it by hand and dries it immediately because he doesn’t want any spots on it but I have used it a couple of times and not dried it off during use and I noticed no rust spots forming so I would say this knife is truly corrosion resistant as every good knife I have owned claimed to be rust proof but that was never the case. The handle and knife are one which should be the case in a high-end knife. My husband has very wide hands with fat fingers and he says this knife is comfortable for him to use. He said the edges are finished to perfection and that the knife has a serial number on the base of the knife just above the handle. I have never seen him so happy over a kitchen knife and he will have it professionally sharpened and he has already found a man who does house calls to sharpen knives.

Holds its own (and edge) with any of them!
“This is an excellent knife. I am impressed with the quality. The steel is good, the manufacturing flawless, the handle tight and comfortable, and the blade razor sharp out of its packaging.
I like good kitchen knives; my great-uncle was a chef and my dad inherited many of his knifes (and skills). In turn, many of those knives have been passed down to me. In addition I purchased a set of well-known German knives for my (now-former) spouse. I like good knives — and keeping them sharp.
This knife is as good as any knife I’ve used. It was my primary knife in processing about 30 pounds of heritage tomatoes last week. It worked like a charm and cleaned up with a rinsing in hot water (the handle is synthetic and so the knife could be put into a dishwasher, but I’d never do this to a good knife because if the edge was not knocked against other utensils and dulled, the abrasive particles in the detergent would dull the edge over time).
The knife comes with a nice edge guard (make sure that the blade is dry before putting the edge guard back on), and comes wrapped in a quality cotton dish towel with the Giesser brand name on it. The towel could also be used as a knife roll for transporting this knife and a few others when working in another kitchen. Packaged this way, I think that the knife is also eminently gift-able; it holds its own (and edge) with any chef’s knife on the market.”
