Important decisions must be made for sustainable cartons. Paper and cardboard must be recycled. This allows new paper to be made from waste paper.
Reuse shortens the paper fibers. After about five recycling cycles, the fibers are so short that only dust remains. Thus, to maintain the production cycle of paper, a proportion of new (not yet recycled) raw material is always necessary. So, paradoxically, the production of paper ensures that more trees grow instead of fewer. This is how sustainability works!
